Hanoi deploys 28 new electric buses to expand green transport

Hanoi has put 28 new electric buses into service, reinforcing the city's commitment to reducing emissions and modernizing its public transport system. The vehicles, manufactured as 2026-model VinFast Green Bus units, are now operating on city routes.

Each bus accommodates up to 60 passengers and incorporates design features aimed at improving accessibility and comfort. The vehicles are equipped with low floors to facilitate easier boarding for elderly passengers and those with mobility challenges. Dedicated facilities for people with disabilities are integrated throughout the cabin.

Passenger comfort has been prioritized in the bus design, with air conditioning and other modern amenities installed as standard features. The electric buses represent part of a broader effort by municipal authorities to transition away from diesel-powered vehicles and address urban air quality concerns.

The deployment follows growing momentum in Vietnam's electric vehicle sector, with domestic manufacturers expanding production and expanding adoption of clean transport solutions across major urban centers in the region.
