Hanoi's electric bus network has reached 375 vehicles operating across 24 routes as of late October 2026, marking substantial progress in the capital's commitment to reducing transport emissions. The Hanoi Transport Corporation deployed 281 electric buses across 17 routes during the first half of the year, establishing a foundation for rapid expansion in subsequent months. An additional 94 buses entered service on seven new routes in October alone, demonstrating accelerated implementation of the city's green transport agenda. The deployment reflects a broader shift in public transportation preferences among Hanoi residents, who increasingly favor electric buses and metro services as alternatives to conventional vehicles. The growing fleet of emission-free buses addresses congestion and air quality concerns while supporting Vietnam's climate commitments and sustainable development goals in urban centers.
