Hanoi leads innovation rankings across Vietnamese provinces in 2026

Hanoi has secured first place in the 2026 Provincial Innovation Index, maintaining its standing as Vietnam's leading innovation hub. The assessment ranks localities across the country based on their innovation capacity and performance metrics.

Ho Chi Minh City claimed the second position, followed by Hai Phong in third place. The top ten performers also include Quang Ninh in fourth, Bac Ninh in fifth, Hue in sixth, and Da Nang in seventh. Thai Nguyen, Tay Ninh, and Hung Yen complete the leading rankings in eighth, ninth, and tenth positions respectively.

The Provincial Innovation Index serves as a key barometer for assessing technological advancement, research and development activities, and innovation-driven economic growth across Vietnam's regions. The rankings reflect ongoing efforts by local governments to foster competitive advantages through innovation ecosystems and technology adoption.
