During the searches, the ED seized approximately Rs 32 lakh in unaccounted cash from the aide's premises. The agency also recovered gold ornaments including 13 gold coins and 7 gold chains with a combined weight of around 200.5 grams, along with 12 luxury watches valued significantly.
The recovery of these items during the enforcement directorate's operation prompted questions about the source and nature of the assets. Rawat's decision to resign from his Congress positions represents a significant development in the party's internal affairs during a sensitive period.
