Haryana Reaches 3.1 Lakh Students With Child Protection Awareness Drive

Haryana's Human Automated Legal Services Authority (HALSA) has completed a comprehensive awareness campaign aimed at educating students about child protection laws and safety measures. The drive, which spanned from May to August, reached 3.1 lakh students across 1,731 schools throughout the state.

The campaign focused on disseminating information about the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, equipping young people with knowledge of their rights and avenues for seeking help. By engaging schoolchildren directly, the initiative sought to build awareness from an early age about issues related to child safety and protection mechanisms available under Indian law.

The four-month outreach effort represents a significant push by state authorities to strengthen child protection awareness in educational institutions. Schools across urban and rural areas of Haryana participated in the program, ensuring broad coverage across different student demographics.

The drive underscores ongoing efforts by state legal authorities to integrate child protection education into school environments, supporting the broader national agenda of safeguarding minors and promoting legal literacy among the youth.
