Hassan, the Tokyo Olympics marathon gold medallist, is set to line up for the November 1 race in New York alongside defending champion Hellen Obiri. The Dutch runner's previous attempt at the Big Apple course proved punishing, but she has used that experience to better understand the unique demands of the race's challenging terrain and conditions.
The New York marathon is renowned for its gruelling route through the five boroughs, with notable elevation changes and the mental challenge of navigating city streets.
