Haze emergency lifted in Sarawak's Serian district
Sarawak's Serian district has been declared free from haze emergency status after air quality readings returned to safe levels. The declaration followed royal assent from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim.

The emergency declaration for Serian district in Sarawak has been formally lifted after air pollutant index (API) readings fell below hazardous thresholds, the state announced today.
The decision to rescind the emergency status received approval from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim, signifying a return to safer air quality conditions in the district.
The lifting of the emergency order comes as API measurements in the area no longer reach dangerous levels that would warrant continued emergency protocols. Serian, located in the northern part of Sarawak, had previously been placed under emergency status due to deteriorating air quality from haze conditions.
Authorities had implemented various measures during the emergency period to protect public health. The restoration of normal status allows for a gradual return to regular operations across the affected district.
