Haze Forces School Closures in Batu Pahat District

All schools, kindergartens and childcare centres in Batu Pahat district have been instructed to cease operations effective immediately, according to education authorities. The closure order has been issued in response to haze conditions affecting the area.

Educational facilities have been directed to transition to distance learning, known locally as PdPR, to ensure continuity of studies for students during the closure. Schools are expected to coordinate with parents and students to implement the remote teaching arrangement.

The measure comes as air quality deterioration prompted authorities to take precautionary steps to protect the health and safety of students and staff. The closure duration will depend on atmospheric conditions in the district.

Parents and guardians have been advised to monitor updates from school authorities regarding the status of the closure and any changes to the educational schedule. Students are encouraged to participate actively in online learning sessions conducted by their respective institutions.
