Air quality across Malaysia's southern peninsula has deteriorated significantly, with multiple monitoring stations recording unhealthy pollution levels. All recorded areas in Melaka and Negeri Sembilan are registering Air Pollutant Index (API) readings of 174 or higher, placing them in the unhealthy category. Several locations in Johor have recorded even higher readings, exceeding 180 on the API scale.
The persistent haze affecting the region shows no signs of immediate improvement, with meteorological conditions continuing to trap pollutants in the lower atmosphere. Residents in affected areas have been advised to limit outdoor activities and take precautionary health measures, particularly vulnerable groups including children, the elderly, and those with respiratory conditions.
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely as the haze continues to impact air quality across the southern states. The API measurements indicate that air quality remains well beyond the healthy threshold of 50, necessitating public awareness and adherence to health advisories. Further updates on atmospheric conditions and air quality readings are expected as the situation develops.
