The health ministry has revoked approval for Remy Laure Soothing Cream products, citing the presence of a scheduled poison in the formulation. The products, previously cleared for sale as cosmetics, have been reclassified as medicines and must now comply with stricter regulatory requirements.
According to the ministry, the cream must be registered with the Drug Control Authority before it can continue to be marketed in the country. The reclassification reflects the product's active ingredients and potency, which fall outside the parameters for cosmetic classification under local regulations.
The move brings the product in line with pharmaceutical regulations governing medicinal preparations. Manufacturers seeking to remarket the product will be required to submit comprehensive documentation demonstrating safety, efficacy, and manufacturing standards to the Drug Control Authority.
