Healthcare operator charts ₹2,200 crore expansion across eastern India

The healthcare division of the Ambuja Neotia Group will add approximately 1,800 beds to its existing 700-bed portfolio, Managing Director Parthiv Neotia announced on Friday. The expansion strategy reflects the company's confidence in regional growth opportunities and rising demand for specialised medical services in eastern states.

As an initial step, the operator will deploy around ₹150 crore to develop a 120-bed dedicated women and child care facility in Howrah, to be operated under its Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre banner. The new centre is scheduled to commence operations by April 2029.

Neotia identified Howrah as a strategic growth location, citing increasing healthcare requirements in maternal, neonatal, and paediatric care. The facility aims to deliver advanced clinical services and reduce travel burdens on families seeking specialised women and child health treatments in the region.

The expansion initiative underscores the group's commitment to decentralising quality healthcare access across eastern India, moving beyond its current operational base to underserved markets with demonstrated demand for tertiary care services.
