TAGBILARAN CITY — Bohol residents faced significant traffic congestion Friday following a series of weather-related incidents spawned by heavy rainfall across the province's central municipalities.
In Loay town, an acacia tree toppled across the national highway in Barangay Agape at approximately 6:20 p.m., blocking traffic in both directions. The incident came as the downpour intensified throughout the afternoon, affecting road conditions across the area.
Nearly simultaneous to the tree fall, a landslide occurred along a national highway in the adjacent municipality of Loboc, further hampering traffic flow in the region. Both incidents required immediate response efforts to clear affected roadways and restore normal vehicular passage.
Local authorities worked to manage traffic diversions as recovery crews addressed the debris and assessed slope stability in the affected areas. The combined incidents underscored the impacts of heavy rainfall on infrastructure in the central Bohol region.
