Multiple suburbs across the Klang Valley experienced significant flooding after heavy rainfall swept through the region on Friday afternoon. Affected areas included Denai Alam, Taman Tun Dr Isham (TTDI), Bukit Jalil, and Subang, with water levels rising rapidly in low-lying zones and causing considerable disruption to residents and commuters.
The flash floods created hazardous conditions on major thoroughfares, with several roads becoming impassable due to accumulated water. Authorities advised residents in affected areas to remain vigilant and avoid venturing into flood-prone zones. Emergency response teams were mobilised to assist those stranded by the rising waters.
The Klang Valley, encompassing Kuala Lumpur and surrounding municipalities, is particularly susceptible to flash flooding during periods of heavy rainfall due to its dense urban development and drainage infrastructure challenges. Meteorological data indicated the rainfall was significant enough to exceed drainage capacity in several localised areas.
Residents were urged to monitor official weather and emergency alerts as forecasts continued to track atmospheric conditions. Authorities reminded the public to exercise caution when travelling through affected zones and to report any emergencies to relevant agencies immediately.
