Uthangarai in Krishnagiri district topped rainfall measurements during the weather system, registering 75.80 mm of precipitation, according to meteorological records. Pambar Dam area followed closely with 55 mm of rainfall, as the weather disturbance affected Salem, Krishnagiri, and Dharmapuri districts across northern Tamil Nadu.
The downpour marks a significant weather event for the region, with water accumulation documented across multiple monitoring stations. Such precipitation levels typically influence water availability and agricultural conditions in these districts, which rely substantially on seasonal rainfall patterns.
Local authorities have been tracking rainfall data and water levels at key reservoirs and dams as a precautionary measure. The impact of the rainfall on ground water levels, agricultural activities, and infrastructure across the three districts is expected to be assessed in coming days.
Weather officials continue monitoring atmospheric conditions in the region to determine whether additional rainfall is anticipated in the short term.
