Flash flooding disrupted several parts of Kuala Lumpur on Sunday as the city experienced heavy downpours, with the Ampang and Lembah Keramat areas recording rainfall exceeding 155mm, according to the Kuala Lumpur mayor's office.
The extreme precipitation led to inundation in various locations across the federal capital, affecting residents and disrupting normal activities. The city hall noted that the flooding was a direct result of the exceptionally heavy rainfall that occurred during the weather event.
The incident highlights the susceptibility of certain areas in Kuala Lumpur to flash floods during periods of intense rainfall. Ampang and Lembah Keramat, which recorded the highest precipitation levels, were among the worst affected zones during Sunday's weather event.
