Heavy rains disrupt flights in Delhi-NCR, snarl traffic in Jaipur
Northern India's major cities grappled with severe weather conditions on Wednesday as torrential rains caused flight diversions and widespread traffic disruptions. The downpour also affected parts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh, leaving numerous roads inundated.

Flight operations at Delhi and nearby airports faced significant delays and diversions as heavy rainfall reduced visibility and made landing conditions treacherous. Airlines diverted several incoming flights to alternate airports, disrupting travel schedules for hundreds of passengers during the peak weather event.
In Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan, traffic congestion intensified as waterlogged streets forced commuters to navigate cautiously through flooded intersections. Several key thoroughfares became partially impassable, with water accumulation hampering the smooth flow of vehicles during rush hours.
Across the northern plains, water levels rose rapidly on major roads and low-lying areas as the monsoon system continued its assault. Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh also witnessed substantial rainfall, with meteorological departments warning of further precipitation in the coming days.
Local authorities activated drainage systems and deployed personnel to manage waterlogged areas, while commuters were advised to exercise caution. The Indian Meteorological Department indicated that the weather system was expected to persist, urging residents to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel during the height of the downpours.
