Heavy security deployed at Kejriwal residence ahead of Delhi protest
The Aam Aadmi Party has alleged that Delhi Police significantly increased security around national convenor Arvind Kejriwal's residence as the party prepared to lead a demonstration at Jantar Mantar demanding the Chief Election Commissioner's resignation.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday accused Delhi Police of converting party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal's residence into a high-security zone ahead of a planned protest march in central Delhi. The party said the heavy police deployment appeared designed to intimidate demonstrators ahead of the Jantar Mantar gathering.
Kejriwal announced on Friday that he and his family would participate in the demonstration, calling on young citizens to join the protest demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over allegations of electoral irregularities. The AAP has framed the march as an expression of democratic dissent against what it terms systematic failures in the electoral process.
Delhi unit president Bharadwaj said the party intended to conduct the protest through non-violent means but criticized the security posture as counterproductive. "The heavy deployment of security personnel is creating an atmosphere of fear," Bharadwaj stated, arguing that dialogue and engagement with youth activists would be more effective than force. He emphasized the party's commitment to constitutional principles and non-violence.
The government responded to the protest announcement by implementing extensive security arrangements across central Delhi, with thousands of police personnel positioned throughout the area. Officials have not publicly detailed the rationale for the heightened measures or provided information about anticipated crowd size or traffic management plans for the day.
