Helicopter operator suspends Rolls-Royce 250-powered aircraft after crash

Layang Layang Aerospace has suspended operations of its entire fleet of helicopters powered by Rolls-Royce 250 engines, according to a statement from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).
CAAM Chief Executive Officer Norazman Mahmud confirmed that the operator made the decision to ground the aircraft voluntarily. The suspension follows an incident involving a BO-105 helicopter equipped with the same engine type.
The grounding affects all aircraft in the operator's fleet that utilise the Rolls-Royce 250 powerplant. No timeline has been announced for the resumption of operations pending further investigation and safety reviews.
The suspension represents a precautionary measure by the operator to ensure passenger and crew safety. Regulatory authorities are expected to conduct a thorough examination of the incident before clearance for normal operations resumes.
