Helicopter with six aboard goes missing in northern India

The helicopter took off from Badrinath in Uttarakhand state during Friday afternoon operations before communications were lost, according to local authorities. The aircraft was carrying six individuals at the time of the incident.

Badrinath, situated in the Hindu Kush mountains at approximately 3,300 meters elevation, is one of the most significant pilgrimage sites in Hinduism and experiences high passenger traffic throughout the year. The remote mountain location presents considerable challenges for search and rescue operations.

Authorities have initiated search efforts in the region where contact was last established. The mountainous terrain and weather conditions in the area complicate rescue operations during this period.

Details regarding the helicopter's intended destination, passenger identities, and the cause of communication loss remain unclear as investigations continue. Authorities have not released additional information about the circumstances surrounding the incident or the status of search operations.
