High Court permits university, not secretary, to intervene in former official's case
A High Court judge has ruled that Dewan Kebangsaan University may intervene in an originating summons filed by a former executive council member, while rejecting an intervention bid by the university's secretary.

Justice Raja Norazli Raja Nordin determined that the university has sufficient interest in the matter to warrant its participation in the proceedings, distinguishing the institution's standing from that of its individual secretary. The ruling came after the court examined the nature of the legal challenge and the respective parties' connections to the case. The judge found that the university, as an entity, possesses a legitimate stake in the outcome of the litigation, whereas the university's secretary was deemed to lack personal interest sufficient to justify separate intervention. This decision allows the university to present its arguments and evidence directly through its legal representatives as the case progresses. The originating summons, filed by the former executive council member, will now proceed with the university's participation as an intervenor in the matter.
