Highway Infrastructure has strengthened its presence in the tolling sector with the award of two significant contracts valued at ₹245 crore across northern and southern India. The company has secured the right to operate toll collection at the Gorakhpur Link Expressway in Uttar Pradesh and the Velanchettiyur Fee Plaza in Tamil Nadu.
These contracts represent a strategic expansion of the company's tolling operations, a vertical that has emerged as a key revenue driver. According to the company's projections, the tolling business is expected to generate cumulative revenue exceeding ₹400 crore over the next two financial years.
The dual contracts span geographically diverse regions, reflecting the company's operational capability across India's highway network. The Gorakhpur Link Expressway project serves connectivity needs in the eastern Uttar Pradesh region, while the Tamil Nadu assignment extends the company's footprint into South India's transportation infrastructure.
These developments indicate growing investor confidence in highway tolling as a stable, revenue-generating business model. With increasing vehicular traffic across Indian highways and ongoing infrastructure expansion, toll management contracts have become increasingly attractive to infrastructure operators seeking predictable cash flows.
