Highway robbery gang arrested in Telangana; three held for targeting parked vehicles

Sangareddy police arrested three members of a criminal gang accused of conducting organised robberies targeting motorists along NH-65 in Telangana. The arrested individuals are suspected of systematically targeting vehicles parked on the highway during night hours to rob occupants of cash and valuables.

According to police investigations, the gang employed a modus operandi involving the display of a fake air pistol and knives to threaten and intimidate victims into surrendering their belongings. The group reportedly stole gold ornaments and other items during their criminal operations on the highway.

Investigators revealed that the gang had established a network to dispose of stolen goods, channeling stolen gold ornaments through a contact operating in Latur, a city in neighbouring Maharashtra. This arrangement allowed the criminals to quickly convert stolen valuables into cash and avoid detection.

Police stated that the arrested individuals had planned to conduct additional robberies across Telangana. The arrests are expected to disrupt their criminal activities and prevent further incidents on the highway. Authorities have launched further investigation to identify any additional gang members and recover stolen items.
