Hindu religious leader urges women empowerment during unity march

A major Hindu unity march spanning 500 kilometres across five districts of Bundelkhand concluded at the Bageshwar Dham, with religious leader Dheerendra Krishna Shastri calling for greater women's empowerment and participation in professional spheres.

Shastri stated that the primary objective of the extended procession was to deliver a message of women's advancement and social strength. He urged women to pursue independence and professional accomplishment, noting that they possess the capability to become civil servants including IPS and IAS officers.

Drawing on Hindu mythological figures as exemplars, Shastri invoked the warrior goddesses Durga and Kali as models of strength and autonomy, contrasting this ideal with what he characterized as restrictive practices limiting women's participation in society.

The march traversed multiple districts in the Bundelkhand region of central India, combining religious observance with messaging focused on social reform and women's education and career advancement.
