Historic Koder House in Fort Kochi Destroyed in Major Fire

A two-hundred-year-old heritage structure in Fort Kochi was consumed by a major fire on Wednesday, sending thick plumes of smoke across the historic waterfront district. The Koder House, a landmark property in the region, became engulfed in intense flames as emergency services rushed to contain the blaze.

Footage from the scene captured the building being engulfed entirely in orange and deep yellow flames, with firefighters deploying multiple water streams in efforts to douse the fire. The intensity of the blaze made containment efforts challenging as flames tore through the centuries-old wooden and brick structure.
