Officials from Ho Chi Minh City and partner cities convened to explore expanded cooperation frameworks focused on sustainable urban development. The dialogue moved beyond conventional knowledge-sharing to identify concrete areas where member cities can work together to tackle common challenges while capitalizing on mutual opportunities.
Kenjiro Mori, Secretary-General of the Osaka Business Partner City Council, underscored the practical orientation of the partnership. "The conference goes beyond experience-sharing to identify common challenges, potential areas of cooperation and practical initiatives that deliver tangible benefits to businesses and residents of member cities," Mori said.
Ho Chi Minh City has positioned itself as a hub for attracting high-quality foreign direct investment to support green growth and sustainable development objectives. The city has also signaled openness to strengthening cooperation with international partners, including the European Union, on environmental and urban development initiatives.
The partnership reflects growing recognition among major Asian cities of the need for coordinated approaches to sustainable high-rise urban development, infrastructure management, and economic competitiveness in an increasingly interconnected regional economy.
