Ho Chi Minh City hosted the Autumn Economic Forum 2026 this week, attracting more than 1,500 representatives from 60 countries and territories to chart a path toward sustainable regional development. The gathering focused on identifying emerging growth drivers and establishing new investment frameworks that could reshape economic landscapes across Asia and beyond.

A centrepiece of the forum was the announcement of 12 major investment projects collectively targeting $13 billion in capital mobilisation. These initiatives span critical sectors including infrastructure, technology, and renewable energy, reflecting a shift toward integrated value chains that connect economies across multiple jurisdictions.

Discussions highlighted the need to position the region as a hub for cross-border investment and innovation. Delegates emphasised the role of international cooperation in advancing green growth initiatives and modernising financial systems to support emerging markets.

The forum underscored mounting momentum for deeper economic integration in Southeast Asia and neighbouring regions. By linking domestic economies into broader supply networks, participants suggested that member states could enhance competitiveness while addressing shared challenges in climate transition and digital transformation.
