Ho Chi Minh City implements one-way traffic on key roads for metro expansion

Ho Chi Minh City authorities will convert sections of Cach Mang Thang Tam and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai streets to one-way traffic starting October 10, marking a significant shift in transport conditions for the densely populated central business district.

The traffic restructuring is part of ongoing efforts to advance the city's metro rail network expansion. Officials have indicated that the one-way system will remain in effect for the duration of construction activities on these critical arteries, which handle substantial daily traffic volumes.

Residents and commuters are urged to adjust their travel routes and allow additional time for journeys through the affected areas. Local authorities have not yet specified an end date for the temporary traffic restrictions, suggesting the measures will remain flexible based on construction progress.

The metro construction project represents one of Ho Chi Minh City's most ambitious infrastructure initiatives aimed at alleviating chronic traffic congestion in Vietnam's largest urban center. Similar traffic management measures have been implemented in previous phases of the metro development program.
