Hockey India throws open doors with free entry to Asian Champions Trophy

Hockey India declared on Tuesday that spectators will enjoy free entry to every match of the men's Asian Champions Trophy, which will unfold from October 27 to November 5 across two venues in Punjab. The Olympian Surjit Singh Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar and the Olympian Balbir Singh Senior International Hockey Stadium in Mohali will collectively stage 20 matches during the tournament.

The competition schedule divides the event geographically, with all league-phase fixtures running from October 27 through November 2 in Jalandhar. The semi-finals and medal matches will shift to Mohali on November 4 and 5, allowing the host cities to share the spotlight during the continental showpiece.

Prospective attendees can obtain their complimentary passes through Hockey India's online ticketing partner, www.ticketgenie.in, which will manage registrations for the event. This digital approach streamlines access while providing organisers with attendance data.

Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey emphasised the strategic intent behind the free-entry policy. "By making entry free for the Hero Asian Champions Trophy Punjab 2026, we hope to bring more supporters to the stands and give them an opportunity to experience the excitement of top-level international hockey," he stated. The initiative reflects the federation's push to deepen grassroots engagement with the sport and cultivate larger fan bases across the region.
