Malaysia's Home Ministry is still waiting for official written documentation from the Pardons Board regarding former Prime Minister Najib Razak, with no house arrest directive yet issued.

KUALA LUMPUR — The Home Ministry has clarified it is awaiting formal written notification from the Pardons Board concerning any decisions related to former Prime Minister Najib Razak, Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution said on Wednesday.
Saifuddin said the ministry has not yet received official documentation that would trigger implementation of any Pardons Board decision, noting that no notification regarding house arrest measures has been communicated to the ministry at this stage.
The clarification comes amid ongoing public speculation about the status of Najib's legal situation following his conviction in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal. The Pardons Board previously announced it was reviewing Najib's case, which has kept observers watching for potential developments.
According to established procedure, formal written notification from the Pardons Board is required before the Home Ministry can take administrative action on any recommendations or decisions affecting an individual's custody or movement.
Saifuddin's statement underscores the formal channels and documentation requirements that must be completed before any changes to Najib's current status can be implemented.
