The Home Team Academy has unveiled enhanced training infrastructure aimed at equipping officers with cutting-edge capabilities for their operational roles. The facility improvements represent a significant investment in upgrading the quality and scope of training available to personnel across Singapore's uniformed services.
Central to the upgrades is the introduction of a virtual shooting range, which allows officers to conduct realistic firearms training in a controlled digital environment. The system enables repeated practice scenarios and performance analysis without the constraints of traditional outdoor ranges, providing flexibility and efficiency gains in training schedules.
Complementing the shooting facility is an upgraded training village, which simulates real-world operational environments. The enhanced village setting provides officers with immersive scenario-based training opportunities, allowing them to practise response procedures and decision-making in situations closely approximating field conditions.
The modernisation initiative reflects efforts to ensure that Singapore's law enforcement and security personnel remain equipped with contemporary training methods. By incorporating virtual and enhanced simulation technologies, the Academy aims to improve training outcomes while maintaining high operational standards across the Home Team.
