Honda overtakes Hero MotoCorp in two-wheeler sales race

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has narrowly overtaken Hero MotoCorp to claim the top position in two-wheeler sales, marking a significant shift in India's competitive two-wheeler market.

According to industry data, Honda sold 7,34,566 two-wheelers in combined domestic and export sales last month, edging out Hero MotoCorp's 7,34,403 units by a slim margin of 163 vehicles.

The development underscores the intensifying competition between the two major players in India's two-wheeler segment. While the sales difference represents a marginal lead, the achievement reflects Honda's strengthening market position through its diverse product portfolio spanning motorcycles and scooters.

Both manufacturers have been competing fiercely to capture market share in India, one of the world's largest two-wheeler markets. The closely contested figures highlight how competitive the segment remains, with leading players competing on multiple fronts including product innovation, pricing, and distribution networks.

The shift in market leadership comes as India's two-wheeler industry continues to witness robust demand driven by factors including rising disposable incomes and growing preference for personal mobility solutions.
