Hotel owner brutally attacked over unpaid food bill in Bihar

A hotel owner in Darbhanga, Bihar, was severely beaten by a group of customers after requesting payment for food, according to CCTV footage that emerged on Wednesday. The incident occurred when the proprietor, identified as Sumit Jha, confronted approximately 20 individuals over an outstanding bill at his establishment.

The video shows multiple assailants attacking Jha with wooden sticks and chairs, causing visible injuries. According to the complaint lodged at Nagar police station, the group arrived at the hotel and launched an unprovoked assault when Jha demanded settlement of the food charges.

Local police confirmed receipt of the complaint and said they would initiate proceedings based on the CCTV evidence. The Sub-Divisional Police Officer stated that further action would be taken following an examination of the recorded footage. The identities of the assailants are being verified through the video record and witness statements.
