House prosecutors to present business records against VP Duterte

MANILA — The House of Representatives prosecution team plans to present documentary evidence showing that Vice President Sara Duterte failed to divest from business interests and continued participating in private enterprises while serving as vice president, according to prosecution spokesperson Benjamin "Jay" Tolosa Jr.

"One of the key points raised in the articles of impeachment is the failure to divest from businesses and continued participation in those businesses during her time as vice president," Tolosa said during a statement Saturday.

The records to be submitted include both corporate filings and government documents intended to demonstrate ongoing financial involvement in private ventures. The evidence forms part of the broader impeachment case being developed against the vice president.

The presentation of these records is expected to proceed as the House prosecution continues building its case. Officials have indicated that documentary evidence will play a central role in substantiating the allegations of conflict of interest and breach of constitutional requirements regarding asset divestment for public officials.
