Houthi drone strike kills one at Riyadh airport; Dammam targeted

The Iranian-backed Houthi movement carried out coordinated attacks across Saudi Arabia on Monday, with a strike on Riyadh's King Fahd International Airport claiming at least one life. The militant group has intensified its assault campaign against the kingdom in recent months, using drones and missiles to target civilian and military installations.

Security forces confirmed that the Riyadh airport came under attack, marking another incident in the ongoing pattern of Houthi strikes against the nation's critical infrastructure. The airport, one of the Middle East's busiest aviation hubs, has been repeatedly targeted over the past years amid the conflict in Yemen.

In addition to the Riyadh assault, the Houthis also directed strikes toward Dammam, Saudi Arabia's principal port city on the Persian Gulf coast. The broader offensive underscores the militant group's continued capability to conduct cross-border operations despite years of Saudi-led coalition airstrikes in Yemen.

The attacks represent an escalation in regional tensions as the conflict in Yemen continues to drive cross-border violence. Saudi Arabia has maintained a military campaign in Yemen since 2015, aimed at countering Houthi advances and supporting the internationally recognized government in Sana'a's rival administration.
