Houthi Rebels Resume Attacks, Kill 18 in Yemen Military Strike

Houthi rebels in Yemen have resumed large-scale military operations following a period of reduced activity, resuming their campaign against government forces and regional targets. The militants fired three missiles at a government army training camp in Yemen, resulting in at least 18 deaths, according to reports from the conflict zone.

The Iranian-backed Houthi movement, which has been engaged in a protracted conflict with Yemen's internationally recognized government, has demonstrated renewed capability to conduct coordinated strikes. The attack on the military training facility represents a significant escalation following weeks of relative calm in the conflict.

In addition to the assault on Yemeni government positions, the rebels also targeted Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, adding to regional tensions. The strikes underscore the Houthis' continued ability to strike targets across Yemen and beyond, despite years of Saudi-led coalition airstrikes aimed at degrading their military infrastructure.

The resumption of major attacks signals a potential shift in the dynamics of Yemen's ongoing civil war, which has created a severe humanitarian crisis and displaced millions of civilians. The conflict remains one of the world's worst humanitarian emergencies, with civilian populations bearing the brunt of the violence.
