Houthis attack Aden airport with missiles as Yemen conflict intensifies

Yemen's government-aligned forces said Houthi militants fired two missiles at Aden airport on Tuesday, adding to the mounting toll of attacks targeting civilian and military infrastructure in the strategic southern city.

The missile strike occurred as government forces reported tactical advances in their campaign to reclaim territory held by the Houthis. Military officials claimed their troops achieved significant progress in the Marib region and said they had neutralized approximately 430 Houthi fighters over a 24-hour period.

Aden airport has been repeatedly targeted throughout Yemen's seven-year conflict, which has devastated the country's economy and infrastructure. The facility serves as a critical gateway for humanitarian aid and military operations in a nation facing one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.

The Houthi movement, which controls much of northern Yemen including the capital Sanaa, has conducted numerous cross-border attacks against Saudi Arabia and regional targets. The conflict has drawn international attention due to the involvement of a Saudi-led coalition supporting government forces and sustained military backing for the rebels.
