Houthis claim fresh strikes on Saudi oil facilities, pledge continued attacks

A Houthi military spokesman announced that the group had launched a coordinated attack against multiple Saudi targets, including the state oil giant Aramco's operations in Dhahran, Riyadh's international airport, and a major refinery in the capital.

The claim represents an escalation in the Houthis' campaign against Saudi Arabia's critical energy infrastructure. The group has conducted numerous drone and missile strikes against oil facilities and airports across the kingdom over recent years.

The Houthi spokesman indicated that the strikes would not be an isolated incident, pledging further military operations targeting Saudi Arabia's petroleum industry and related infrastructure. The group has previously warned of plans to expand its attacks on key economic targets.

Saudi Arabia has not immediately confirmed details of the reported strikes or provided casualty figures. The kingdom's air defence systems have intercepted numerous attacks from Yemen in the past, though some projectiles have reached their intended targets.

The escalating military operations underscore the fragile security situation in the Arabian Peninsula amid the ongoing conflict in Yemen, where Houthi forces have held significant territory since 2014.
