HRV Pharma expands into Europe with Phatebo acquisition

HRV Pharma, a Hyderabad-headquartered pharmaceutical manufacturer, has completed the acquisition of Phatebo, a German-based supplier of clinical trial services and solutions. The acquisition represents the Indian firm's initial foray into Europe's finished pharmaceutical formulations sector, expanding its operational footprint beyond domestic markets.

Phatebo, which generated approximately ₹350 crore in revenue during 2025, brings established capabilities in clinical trial support and finished formulations to HRV Pharma's portfolio. The German entity's operational infrastructure and market presence in Europe provide the Indian acquirer with an established platform for growth in the region.

The strategic acquisition aligns with HRV Pharma's broader expansion objectives, enabling the company to serve European pharmaceutical markets and strengthen its position in the contract manufacturing and clinical research organization segments. The deal underscores the growing trend of Indian pharmaceutical companies seeking international acquisitions to diversify their revenue streams and enhance their global competitiveness.

The move positions HRV Pharma to leverage Phatebo's European regulatory expertise and customer relationships while integrating the acquired firm's operations with its existing manufacturing capabilities and quality systems.
