The Human Rights and Social Science Foundation (HRSS) has formally called for a thorough investigation into the executions of two Bangladeshi workers carried out by Saudi authorities. The demand comes amid growing concerns about the circumstances surrounding the cases and the treatment of migrant workers in the Gulf kingdom.

The organization has appealed to Bangladesh's government to take immediate diplomatic steps to ensure accountability and to examine whether proper legal procedures were followed during the trials. HRSS representatives emphasized the need for transparency from Saudi judicial authorities regarding the evidence presented and the conduct of legal proceedings.

The executions underscore ongoing challenges faced by Bangladeshi migrant workers abroad, particularly regarding access to adequate legal representation and protection of their rights. Labor-sending countries have repeatedly expressed concern about the vulnerability of their nationals in destination countries where judicial systems and due process standards may differ significantly from their own.

The Bangladesh government has not yet issued a formal statement regarding the HRSS demands. The incident is likely to intensify discussions among regional governments about strengthening protections for migrant workers and ensuring greater oversight of legal proceedings affecting their citizens.
