Hyderabad Anti-Corruption Bureau arrests engineer in bribery sting

The Hyderabad Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested the deputy executive engineer of Musheerabad division following a caught-bribery case on Thursday. The engineer allegedly demanded ₹10,000 from a complainant in exchange for facilitating official work, triggering the ACB investigation.

ACB officials conducted a detailed investigation into the complaint and subsequently laid a trap to catch the engineer in the act of accepting the bribe. The operation resulted in the apprehension of the accused during the transfer of the illicit payment.

The arrested engineer was taken into custody for further interrogation and legal proceedings. The ACB is conducting investigations to establish the full scope of the alleged misconduct and determine whether similar instances of corruption exist within the division.

This arrest is part of ongoing anti-corruption drives being conducted across government departments to curb bribery and misuse of official authority. The ACB has been intensifying its operations against public servants engaged in corrupt practices, particularly those demanding illegal payments for routine administrative services.
