Hyderabad authority seeks bids for major elevated corridor project

The HMDA has floated a competitive bidding process for the elevated corridor project, which is expected to significantly enhance vehicular movement between the two prominent localities in Hyderabad. The corridor will span 8.75 kilometres and is designed to reduce travel time and decongest existing road networks in the region.

Banjara Hills, a well-established residential and commercial area, and Gachibowli, home to major IT companies and business centres, are key economic zones in the city. The elevated corridor is intended to provide a direct, non-stop transportation link between these localities, benefiting commuters and commercial traffic.

The project forms part of Hyderabad's broader infrastructure development strategy to address growing urban congestion and support the city's expanding economic footprint. Similar elevated corridors and flyover projects have been pursued across major Indian metros to improve traffic flow and reduce on-ground congestion.

Contractors and infrastructure developers are invited to submit their technical and financial proposals for the project. The HMDA will evaluate bids based on specified criteria including project execution capability, timeline feasibility, and cost efficiency. Final project timelines and specifications are expected to be detailed in the tender documents.
