Several neighbourhoods across Hyderabad are grappling with severely damaged internal roads as major infrastructural projects continue across the city. The Strategic Nala Development Programme, which involves laying stormwater pipelines and drainage lines, has disrupted numerous road stretches, rendering sections bumpy and difficult to navigate for commuters.
The ongoing construction work has torn up significant portions of the city's internal road network, leaving many areas in a state of disrepair. Residents have reported challenges in accessing certain routes as vehicles struggle to traverse the damaged surfaces.
The situation has been exacerbated by the absence of an elected municipal council following the dissolution of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation's governing body. With no elected representatives currently in place, coordination and oversight of road maintenance and repair work has been hampered, slowing efforts to address the infrastructure gaps.
The scale of disruption underscores the challenges of managing large-scale infrastructure projects in densely populated urban areas.
