Hyderabad sees 43,700 Ganesh idol immersions across four zones

Over 43,700 Ganesh idols have been immersed across four commissionerates in Hyderabad as the city observes the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. The Cyberabad commissionerate has accounted for nearly half of the immersions conducted so far, reflecting the concentration of festivities in the tech corridor area.

The immersion figures are expected to rise significantly in the days ahead as the main procession approaches. Authorities across all four commissionerates—Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Rachakonda, and Telangana—have made arrangements to manage the influx of idols during the peak immersion period.

The festival, celebrated with traditional pomp and fervor across Telangana's capital, sees devotees immersing idols of Lord Ganesha in water bodies as part of the 10-day celebration. Civic authorities have deployed personnel at immersion points to ensure smooth operations and adherence to environmental guidelines during the ritual.

The spike in immersion numbers as the festival progresses underscores the widespread participation of residents across different zones of the city. Municipal authorities have been coordinating with cultural organizations and pandal committees to facilitate organized and orderly immersions throughout the festival period.
