Hyderabad to distribute affordable housing allotments from September 21

The Telangana government is set to accelerate its affordable housing programme in Hyderabad with simultaneous announcements of allotment letters and commencement of a major new residential project. Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy will lay the foundation stone for the Indiramma Housing towers on Monday at a site behind Malkam Cheruvu in the Raidurg area, signalling the beginning of construction activities.

The foundation-laying ceremony marks a significant milestone in the state's effort to address the shortage of affordable residential units for low-income households. The project will be developed on 2.85 acres of land, with the infrastructure expected to substantially increase the housing stock in the rapidly developing locality.

Concurrently, the state housing authority will commence distribution of allotment letters to selected beneficiaries from September 21, enabling eligible applicants to proceed with formalities for their allocated units. The dual announcements underscore the government's commitment to scaling up affordable housing delivery across the metropolitan region.

The Indiramma Housing scheme has emerged as a flagship initiative to provide economically weaker sections and lower-middle-income groups access to quality residential properties at subsidised rates. Officials indicated that the Raidurg project represents one of several planned housing developments across Hyderabad's expanding urban areas.
