Hyderabad will serve as the venue for the annual general meeting (AGM) of a major paper traders' body, commencing October 3. The assembly will convene industry participants to examine pressing issues facing the sector and explore avenues for growth and modernization.
The agenda encompasses a broad range of topics, including identification of emerging market opportunities and the adoption of sustainable business practices across the supply chain. Technological advancements and digital transformation within the paper trading industry are also slated for discussion among delegates.
A key focus of the gathering will be to reiterate industry demands for fiscal relief. Stakeholders are expected to collectively push for a reduction in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on paper products from the current 18 percent to 5 percent, arguing that lower tax rates would enhance competitiveness and boost demand in the sector.
The meeting provides an important platform for traders, distributors and industry representatives to align on policy advocacy efforts and collaborative strategies for sector development.
