Hyderabad university VC accused of making derogatory remarks about women

Two professors at a Hyderabad university have lodged a complaint against the institution's vice-chancellor, accusing him of making derogatory remarks about women's roles in society. The professors claim the VC made comments suggesting that women are suited only for childbearing and domestic work during a meeting held on Tuesday.

The faculty members had scheduled an appointment with the VC to invite him as chief guest for an event planned for October 30. What began as an official courtesy meeting reportedly turned contentious when the alleged sexist remarks were made.

The incident has sparked concerns about workplace conduct and gender sensitivity within the university administration. The allegations come at a time when educational institutions across India are increasingly facing scrutiny over gender-related grievances and institutional responses to misconduct complaints.

The university has not yet issued an official statement regarding the allegations. The matter is likely to undergo review through the institution's grievance redressal mechanisms and internal complaint committees tasked with addressing such allegations.
