Hyundai Motor India Aims to Double Women Executives by 2030

Hyundai Motor India Ltd announced its commitment to gender diversity in leadership, unveiling plans to raise women's representation among its executive staff from the current 8 percent to 20 percent within the next six years. The company, which employs over 4,000 people in executive roles, views the initiative as crucial to building a resilient and forward-looking talent ecosystem.

The South Korean automaker's push toward gender parity reflects broader shifts in India's corporate landscape. Among its newly recruited management and engineer trainees in 2026, approximately 45 percent are women, demonstrating the company's success in attracting female talent at entry levels.

Tarun Garg, managing director and CEO of Hyundai Motor India, stated that the target underscores the company's dedication to expanding opportunities and fostering an inclusive workplace where professionals can achieve their career aspirations. The initiative aligns with the automobile sector's broader efforts to tap into India's growing pool of skilled women professionals.

The company's focus on women representation comes as Indian corporations increasingly recognize the business case for diversity, with gender-balanced workforces linked to improved innovation and organizational performance.
