Hyundai Venue gets remote immobilisation feature via OTA update

Hyundai Motor India is introducing a remote immobilisation feature for the Venue compact SUV, leveraging over-the-air (OTA) technology to deploy the security enhancement across select variants of the popular model.

The new capability allows owners to immobilise their vehicles remotely, adding an extra layer of security without requiring a visit to an authorised service centre. The feature will be rolled out through OTA updates, making it accessible to eligible vehicle owners through seamless digital deployment.

The remote immobilisation function is designed to prevent unauthorised vehicle movement, particularly useful in scenarios involving theft attempts or unauthorised access. By enabling this function digitally, Hyundai is reducing customer inconvenience and service centre dependency for implementing new security measures.

The feature will be available on specific Venue variants, as part of the company's broader strategy to enhance vehicle security through connected car technology. This approach reflects an industry trend toward delivering software-based upgrades that improve vehicle functionality and safety post-purchase.
