Authorities in Rajasthan have launched a probe into property acquisitions by a couple comprising an IAS officer and an IPS officer. According to initial findings, approximately 20 villas were allegedly purchased in Bujhda, Udaipur in March 2026, with properties registered in both individuals' names. The IAS officer is reported to have registered 10 villas in his personal name, while his wife, an IPS officer, registered an identical number in hers.

The investigation has expanded to include properties in a second city, bringing the total number of villas under scrutiny to 36. The combined value of these properties is estimated at around Rs 5 crore. Investigating agencies are examining the source of funds used for these purchases and the timing of the acquisitions in relation to the couple's official positions and declared assets.

The probe comes as part of a broader examination into the financial dealings of the couple. Authorities are verifying land records, transaction documents, and bank details to establish the legitimacy of the property purchases. The investigation is expected to examine whether the acquisitions were made through legitimate means and whether proper disclosure requirements under service rules were adhered to.

Both the IAS and IPS officers are understood to be cooperating with investigators. The case has drawn attention to asset accumulation patterns among civil servants and law enforcement personnel in the state. Officials have indicated that the investigation will proceed methodically to determine if any violations of conduct rules or financial regulations have occurred.
