Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar, a 2016-batch Indian Administrative Service officer currently serving as Director of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in Karnataka's Department of Industries and Commerce, faced searches at his residential properties in Bengaluru and Uttar Pradesh as part of an active investigation into alleged irregularities in state recruitment processes.
The raids were part of a wider probe into suspected malpractices in Karnataka's hiring procedures, sources indicated. Multiple locations linked to the officer were searched simultaneously to gather evidence related to the allegations.
The case has drawn attention to potential administrative lapses in recruitment oversight. Gangwar's current posting places him in a position overseeing policies that impact thousands of micro and small enterprises across the state.
The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities examining records and documents recovered during the searches. The incident underscores recurring concerns about transparency and accountability in state-level recruitment and administrative processes across India's bureaucratic apparatus.
